Furniture Designer

Job Details :

The Furniture Designer at a design and fit-out company is responsible for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture pieces tailored to the company’s design projects. This role involves collaborating with interior designers and clients to ensure that furniture solutions meet both design and practical requirements.

Responsibilities and Qualifications :

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative furniture designs that align with project themes and client needs.
  • Create detailed sketches, blueprints, and 3D models of furniture designs.
  • Select appropriate materials, finishes, and colors for furniture pieces.
  • Work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure designs are accurately produced.
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing of new furniture designs.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and durability standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate furniture into overall design schemes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in furniture design, preferably within a design and fit-out context.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics.
  • Creative flair with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and project teams.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of furniture design projects.
