Arctech has recently finalized a land lease agreement with Saudi Arabia’s MODON, marking a significant milestone in the company’s investment in a manufacturing facility in Jeddah. This development paves the way for Arctech to expand its operations in the Middle East, positioning itself for growth in the region’s burgeoning renewable energy sector.

Overview of the New Factory

The planned factory will span approximately 9,700 square meters and will serve as Arctech’s second overseas production facility, following its base in Gujarat, India. Designed to manufacture high-quality photovoltaic (PV) tracking systems with a capacity of 3GW, the facility will play a crucial role in supplying solar energy projects across the Middle East. With the support of Arctech’s robust global supply chain, localized production at this factory is expected to enhance the company’s delivery capacity to 10GW, strengthening supply chain resilience in international markets.

Impact on the Local Economy

Arctech’s Jeddah factory is set to drive the development of the local PV industry chain, creating numerous employment opportunities and contributing positively to Saudi Arabia’s sustainable economic growth. This strategic agreement aligns with Arctech’s commitment to the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, underscoring its globalization strategy of “going global, blending in, and being integrated.” The company aims to make meaningful contributions to global sustainable development through this initiative.

Showcasing Innovative Technologies

At the World Future Energy Summit 2024 held in Abu Dhabi from April 16-18, Arctech demonstrated its advanced technologies, including the dual-row multi-point drive ‘SkyWings’ tracking system and a comprehensive off-grid PV-plus-storage Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) solution. These innovations showcase Arctech’s leadership in the industry.

SkyWings Tracking System

The SkyWings system features a patented bi-directional transmission design that enables dual-row parallel tracking. With a 25% slope adaptability and a 15% increase in installation tolerance for adjacent rows, it offers enhanced stability and efficiency, even in challenging environments such as droughts and sandstorms. Notably, the first phase of a 1GW project in Uzbekistan utilizing SkyWings has successfully achieved grid connection, allowing for greater installation capacity while reducing pile installations and costs significantly.

Addressing Module Design Challenges

Arctech’s innovations, including SkyLine II and SkySmart II, tackle the complexities associated with large module designs. By adopting a multi-point drive mechanism and achieving an optimal 0° stow angle, these systems mitigate the risks of micro-cracking. The triple D torque tube design further enhances stability, minimizes wind loads, and lowers installation costs, making it ideal for accommodating large modules in various conditions.

Off-Grid PV-plus-Storage BIPV Solution

Arctech also showcased its off-grid PV-plus-storage BIPV solution, which seamlessly integrates photovoltaic systems with energy storage. This solution offers modular assembly, soundproofing, insulation, and relocation capabilities, making it adaptable for diverse applications, from offices to residences.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, Arctech is dedicated to providing cutting-edge technologies, exceptional products, and superior services to both Middle Eastern and global markets. The establishment of the Jeddah factory is a pivotal step in reinforcing the region’s green energy development and meeting the increasing demand for renewable energy solutions. Through innovation and local engagement, Arctech is poised to make a significant impact on the sustainable energy landscape in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
