Jazan City Port Basic and Transformative Industries has announced the awarding of three significant contracts totaling SAR 315 million (approximately $84 million) aimed at improving construction and operational capabilities at the port. The contracts have been awarded to three prominent companies: China Harbor Engineering Company Arabia, Al Dafe For Trading and Contracting, and Walid Mughashi Establishment for Operation and Maintenance.
These contracts encompass several critical projects designed to bolster the port’s logistical framework. Key initiatives include the construction of a bridge that will link the manufacturing island’s deposit and re-export area directly to the city port, the development of a dedicated warehouse for city support services, and an agreement for the operation and maintenance of temporary accommodations.
The first project involves the construction of a bridge facilitating connectivity between the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the city port, and the deposit and re-export area. This comprehensive infrastructure development will include the building of three bridges, which are essential for enhancing transport efficiency and logistics operations.
Jazan City Port has emphasized that these initiatives are pivotal in augmenting the port’s logistical capabilities and improving the efficiency of heavy transport activities. The overarching goal of this ambitious transformation is to establish Jazan City as a crucial regional logistics hub. This endeavor aligns with national industrial strategies aimed at driving economic growth, enhancing private sector participation, expanding non-oil exports, and improving global competitiveness. Furthermore, it seeks to attract foreign investments, foster economic diversification, and create a conducive environment for investment.
