Following Unilever’s recent partnership with Accenture for global generative AI rollouts, Aramco, one of the Middle East’s largest companies, has made a similar announcement. Aramco, the world’s leading oil and chemicals giant, through its digital subsidiary Aramco Digital, has teamed up with Accenture to drive its ambitions in generative AI.

Aramco Digital, responsible for the company’s digital transformation and tech innovations, aims to become a leader in the field of generative AI, which Accenture and McKinsey & Company have hailed as “the most transformative technology since the industrial revolution.”

Tareq Amine, CEO of Aramco Digital, emphasized the company’s commitment to AI advancement: “Generative AI will reshape industries and the talent landscape. Our partnership with Accenture ensures that not only are we prepared for this transformation, but we’re also positioned to lead it. We are excited to leverage our deep capabilities and digital solutions in Generative AI to serve the Kingdom’s workforce and support Vision 2030.”

Focus on Building an AI-Ready Workforce

At the heart of this collaboration is the goal to build an AI-ready workforce. Aramco Digital will adopt Accenture’s LearnVantage platform, which uses AI-powered recommendations to deliver personalized learning, skill gap assessments, and certifications. This will ensure Aramco’s workforce gains both foundational and specialized AI skills, including the responsible use of AI.

Accenture’s LearnVantage platform, integrated with generative AI, will equip Aramco’s entire workforce with essential AI knowledge and expertise. The platform will offer tailored learning experiences and certifications, while Accenture will provide access to a network of trainers and mentors fluent in both Arabic and English. This initiative ensures Aramco employees are prepared to thrive in AI-driven roles and beyond.

Broader Impact Across the Kingdom

Beyond Aramco’s internal efforts, the partnership aims to extend AI capabilities to other organizations across Saudi Arabia. This move aligns with Aramco Digital’s mission to address the Kingdom’s evolving digital talent needs and contribute to Vision 2030 by enhancing the workforce’s digital skill sets.

Omar Boulos, CEO of Accenture Middle East, commented on the broader implications of the partnership: “We are passionate about helping organizations in Saudi Arabia become talent creators. Our collaboration with Aramco Digital will empower the Kingdom’s workforce with future-ready skills and further support the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals.”

Kishore Durg, Global Lead of Accenture’s LearnVantage offering, added: “LearnVantage’s AI-native platform will be instrumental in accelerating digital skill-building and ensuring effective learning. We’re excited to partner with Aramco Digital to help shape future-ready workforces in Saudi Arabia.”

This latest initiative builds on the longstanding relationship between Aramco and Accenture, which includes a major digital consulting contract signed last year. Together, they continue to push the boundaries of digital innovation and workforce development in the Kingdom.
